Playground Surfacing
Playpave
It’s important to ensure that all play areas containing pieces of play equipment where climbing is involved have some form of ‘soft landing zone’ in place. Playscape playgrounds offers a variety of surfacing solutions and can advise you in relation to your school’s individual needs.
What is Playpave?
Playpave is a fantastic way to add some individual characteristics to a play area or public space, as it combines a unique and attractive cosmetic appearance with functional anti-slip properties. Playpave is a water permeable surface consisting of a mixture of decorative aggregate and recycled rubber granules mixed with binder which brightens pathways up from the usual dull grey concrete or black tarmac. The rubber granules which give Playpave its colour feature are available in a variety of different colours.Applications
Ideal for walkways & paths, bicycle tracks, footpaths, daily mile tracks or just to generally brighten up surfaced areas. Playpave cannot be used as a ‘safety’ surface due to the inclusion of the aggregate in the mixture.Safety
Playpave does not offer any safety surfacing properties for directly under play equipment or other structures requiring a free fall height safety zone.Installation
Playpave can be laid directly on top of old tarmac, concrete. When laid onto a grass or soil area, Playpave must be laid onto an engineered MOT sub-base. Playpave is laid on-site by fully qualified, enhanced DBS checked installation teams.Focus points:
- Fantastic aesthetics which adds uniqueness and character to any surface
- Different colour options
- Low maintenance
- Water permeable
- Durable and long lasting
